About this API
The United Nations Security Council Consolidated List contains every individual and entity (organisations, groups, companies) subject to sanctions measures imposed under Security Council resolutions — such as asset freezes, travel bans and arms embargoes. The data is published as a single XML file (about 2 MB) at the stable address scsanctions.un.org, which issues an HTTP 302 redirect to a time-limited signed file in Azure Blob Storage — the redirect is expected and the download itself remains keyless. Each record carries names, aliases, dates and places of birth, nationalities, document numbers and the number and date of the resolution behind each listing. The list is maintained and refreshed by the UN Secretariat whenever the relevant Sanctions Committees amend it. Reuse of the data is governed by the UN website Terms of Use (personal, non-commercial use; redistribution or derivative works require written permission).
